Simple projects

Here are two simple projects to refine your basic making skills.

The first is a simple, well proportioned mirror that can either be hung on a wall, or assembled with a stand - drawings for a stand are included.

The other is a little wooden toy. Okay, this isn't actually a flat-frame project, but it is a fun little skill-builder. How well can you make this wooden knot? The better you make it - the harder the puzzle is for someone to work out how it comes apart - or fits together...

These are also a fun projects to experiment with different finishes, such as wood-stains, wax, oils or varnishes.
