teaching & learning

Humans love to build stuff. Problem is, building stuff is more complex than it seems. Designers and engineers must understand how different forces will impact upon different materials. This understanding is often called 'mechanics'. Don't confuse this topic with fixing engines; here you learn some fundamentally important engineering.

In this course unit, you will learn about structures, forces and mechanical engineering.

introduction to structures

Understanding mechanics means understanding forces. In this introductory section, we introduce a range of basic concepts that you need to know about.
