DesignClass | Design & Technology Scotland
Overview
Graphic design is an important part of the Graphic Communication course, with pupils expected to use a range of software to create effective layouts. This includes using DTP, photo-editing and vector graphic software. Some manual planning techniques may also be used, including making assets from manual graphics.
These projects and resources are designed to give pupils a reasonable understanding of the process of making layouts.
I personally use a range of software - most of it paid versions - but there are lots of good free options available. All the techniques on these pages can be created using freeware.

Vector graphics
Vector graphics are the heart of many creative layouts, from print graphics, to web and animation. Vector graphics have many advantages over photographs or other raster based images. Knowing how to create, edit and manipulate vector graphics is a useful skill.
The following resources are designed to support learning about vector graphics.
